Another VW: New Jetta SportWagen TDI

So since my GTI has died, I now needed a new car. And the hunt begins.

I do not want another VW, say I to myself. So I start looking. First I need to see what my car is worth… Well the repairs if the headers are messed up would be about 5K and the car is worth 12K, so I’m asking 7000 for the car. That’s reasonable right?

Lets first take a look at some of my choices:

1. 2015 Ford Mustang

Mustang 50 Year Limited Edition

2. 2014 Ford Focus ST

3. 2015 Chevy Colorado (yes I was debating on a small truck)

4. 2014 Honda Civic Si

5. 2015 Volkswagen GTI

6. 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer EVO

Some of these are a little more expensive than I would like but they are all choices that I would get!

Before I was able to actually pick anything, I realized (because Honda pointed this out). My car is not in running condition and the dealer wants to see what they are buying from me. This prevented me from even having a choice. So a VW it was. But as I was trolling on the Archer VW page, I saw a Jetta SportWagen for sale. This is basically a variant of the Golf (I have no idea why its called a Jetta here) which is based on the same everything just the back is extended and its a hatch back. Perfect, I can haul things and have 4 doors and a lot of room, but I have to give up manual… That’s OK. Also this was a diesel, which gets a lot better gas mileage and I drive ALOT! Perfect. So my dad and I went to the dealership and got this new TDI.

Ill write about the experience of the car in the next post, as owning a diesel is a completely different things from a regular car. Noises, Fueling, Acceleration, Power, everything. But you know, I like it so far. So for now enjoy these pictures. Its a very peppy “Shagon Wagon”.
